I wasn't going to, but I'll respond. Let's start by giving credit where it's due - the extraordinary work of the LR board has outdone itself in uncovering his long trail of deceit. I knew of some things but have been swept up & along as more & more info about his cheating was dug up. I want to thank everybody that's worked so hard to rat this guy out! I've followed up on many of the leads, corresponding with event directors, newspaper reporters, friends and Kip to get the facts squared away. Probably the only thing I know that this board doesn't is what's in correspondence between Kip & myself. And that's the way it'll remain. |

I contacted the race director too - who was kind enough to forward Kip's 'explanation' for his race. The explanation was a bunch of nonsense and did nothing to persuade me he'd run the whole way. However, as the RD did with you, he told me he felt he didn't have enough to DQ Kip. There have been a number of other races where RD's felt the same way after looking over the evidence against him. Basically, they feel uneasy about being wrong and what Kip might do if he gets DQ'd - despite being presented with the fact he's been DQ'd in other races for reasons similar to their own event. It's not as easy as it may seem to DQ somebody. Some races are aggressive and can spot a cheat when they see one. Others aren't so sure of themselves and beg off. Fine. It's puzzling why they can't pull the trigger but it's not worth pursuing in Kip's case. Why, you might ask? The trail of cheating is long, weird, documented AND a story looms over his head. The story won't ignore the events where he cheated but wasn't DQ'd. |

I think good old Kipper will go underground for 6-8 months like William Jurena did after being caught cheating a few years ago by the letsrun crowd. |

Apparently Kip claimed to have been in a car accident and that is why he didn't run Cowtown. |

Lots of info on this thread, much that can be forgotten! I recall this was covered before. Google search shows a RW post got copied here and also linked to your site: http://kiplitton.blogspot.com/2011/01/marshall-univ-marathon.html While I'm writing - I previously dug up a lot of data on older races which you said you'd try adding to your timeline. Can you take a look back at your 2/7/2011 11:48PM post? Would appreciate it. |
