What races are you working on? I've got some time and will do some digging.

That's just awful that Lincoln College lifted Kip's sample office photo for the cover of their catalog.

I have to respectfully disagree with this statement. I am sure you are partially driven by your desire to preserve this thread and we all understand that Rojo and Wejo are probably one or two posts away from yanking the whole thing.

However, if anyone comes up with evidence of fundraising impropriety, it should be fair game for this thread and fits in perfectly with the whole element of "cheating at races".

While fundraising is the most likely way Mr Litton's antics gain a wider audience everyone should really tread lightly on things that imply truly criminal behavior without good solid information. Likewise with attempts the publicly humiliate him by "outing" him to friends or customers.

Mr Litton is a guy that apparently continues to cheat even though his primary fundraising vehicle is shut down. He's not showing up at awards ceremonies and collecting trophies. He's also made up some races out of whole cloth and likely raced under an alias.

So if he's cheating to raise money that's not happening. If he's cheating to pick up trophies he's not getting them. If he's cheating for notoriety that's going to his alias'. It's really difficult to understand the motivation for what he's doing at this point. This really points to someone that's got more than a few loose screws.

Someone like that could make things problematic for the Brojos or anyone else they can identify. Unstable people will do annoying things that while not ultimately successful you have to deal with them.

This situation is similar to Chandra Bozelko a few years ago. She was (is) borderline psychotic and started contacting people that posted things about her on message boards and threatening to have "her friends in the FBI" start investigating them. She's since been charged with jury tampering (http://www.wfsb.com/news/15235438/detail.html).

If people start doing things that potentially threaten Mr Litton's livelihood it wouldn't be too surprising to see some backlash. Doesn't matter if libel or other charges eventually are dismissed the people on the receiving end will need to deal with them, likely requiring paid legal council.

The research done by many on this thread is excellent. Getting Mr Litton's many improper results removed from the historical record and bringing his efforts to the attention of race directors so he can't continue them is a tall order and should be enough.

Keith, good points, all. Sum of 2nd paragraph - he ain't all there. Agreed. I don't see him making trouble for the Brojos. Possible, but unlikely. I think he's toothless. There's too much posted that exposes Kip L as a fraud & cheat for him to find a leg to stand on and fight back.

Research on this thread has been exceptional! Well done fellows. You done good! On your last point...he could still cheat under an alias so bringing his story to the public and race directors won't necessarily end the chicanery. Twice I've thought he would stop - and he didn't. This tale is stranger than fiction. Since we can't control what he'll do, a story detailing his cheating is enough damage as far as I'm concerned.

Good posts Keith and Clarkston Kent. Had me thinking, if he does in fact continue to race under an alias how do we catch him.
If Athlinks had a marker that could flag huge differentials in gun time/chip time in their incoming results that would help. We could then hunt down the photo's to see if it's Kip.
Just a thought.

He obviously has a preferred "sweet spot" of 2:50's for the marathon/17's for 5K. Looking there for results with gun/chip differentials, with particular scrutiny of MI/FL results would be a good start. From there he will be forced to "slow down or speed up". It would be funny if he started trying to fake 2:30's or was forced back to 3:30's.

I am starting to doubt that his 1:26:03 at the 2006 Naples Half marathon is legit too.

If you look at the photos:
http://www2.brightroom.com/browser.aspx?event_id=9709&bib=1529

There are only 3 of him and he does not even seem to be sweating, bib covered, yada, yada, yada.

Most of the others stand out for having many photos, sweating profusely.

His time seems to be A LOT better than what some of his current 2006 times would indicate.

Just a hunch.

The race that seems to jump out to me is his sudden 3:08 effort at the Richmond marathon in 2004. I could not locate any photos.

Also, did anyone research some of the duathlons he competed in? I know he won one in 2008. Just curious...

Look at p. 58 of this thread. I wouldn't call it an 'investigation', but there are some fishy aspects of his results.
