Update: talked w/Cowtown officials today - they're going to rely on their own security system to monitor the progress of all runners. There was no offer of a following cyclist for Dr Litton. That's fine.

are the mats going to be at 10K, 12k, 13.1M, 30K like last year?[/quote]

If you would've copied one more sentence you would've learned I don't know the locations - I'm waiting to hear. I'd guess something like you've listed. It's possible they might not tell me - they may not want to be party to The Kip Watch.

Thank you for doing the research for me. I will adjust my cheating plans to make sure I cross each mat.

There are a # of places Kip could cheat @ Cowtown. Looks like 9-19 miles go up/down some.

I'm more excited about this race than I have been any elite race in the past year. I only wish we could have a live race cam of Kip. I'll be obsessing over the live tracking results all day.

Has anyone committed to providing race feedback to the letsrun crowd?

Mats are going to be at 10k, 13.1 miles, and 30k. This should be fun.

Looking at the map, I think Kip is going to have a very hard time cutting this course (and hitting all the mats). The 10K is way north, and the 13.1 is in the complete opposite direction. 30K is even further south. I suppose he could hit 30K and then dart across to mile 20, but that only shaves a mile off the course.

guys, just make sure to check if it's really him at the start. I bet there's second runner somewhere, or guy on the bicycle. Kip might join the race just before the last mat, so tracking him since beginning might be misleading.

Thanks for that, wasn't aware of the 30k mat. I have a few days now to come up with that 3rd disguise.

Whoever is tracking him, should DEFINITELY bring a camera and take photos. Who knows what kind of slight-of-hand might be employed.

By taking photos, and then having them posted on SOKLR, multiple sets of eyes will be able to help unveil any smoke and mirrors.

Brightroom or one of those places will be taking RANDOM photos along the course. KIPPY, if you dont run the whole course, you wont show up at the points all the other runners show up. Further, if you cover your bib number, your photos will still be there but they will be stashed in the lost & found.

Sorry pal, he's already been 'pulled' down by a mountain of evidence.

Surprised there have been so few offers to shadow Kip on Sunday. Anybody living in the Ft Worth area just looking to get in a long run would only have to shadow him through about the half-way point or set up viewing spots along the route. He's agreed to keep his number (535) visible at the start and start in the back of the pack. It would be interesting to get accounts of how he maneuvers through thousands of people to get up to sub-3 hour speed.

I don't know how to stream it live but I hope one of the people running with Kip has a Go-Pro or equivalent. I don't know what the storage capacity or battery capability on that thing is, though.
