I'm glad you asked mommy mommy. Since we now have a benefactor for the contest we can go ahead and set it up. Since I'll be doing all the work, while the benefactor will just be spending $5, I get to make up all the rules. And here they are: Eligible participants: Only people who have posted on this thread PRIOR to this post will be eligible. People who have posted what I deem to be positive things about Kip are not eligible, as I would be worried they are either Kip himself, or a friend of his, and could rig the contest. If you didn't assign a password to a username you used on this thread, you should do that now. Entry procedure: I will set up an entry website where you will submit the username you used for your post, the thread page number of one of your posts, and your predicted time. Once the contest closes (a day or two before the race) anyone who entered must post on this thread the time they predicted and the date they entered. I do all of this to prevent someone from entering 50 times. It's true that someone who posted under 5 different names will get to enter 5 times, but there's only so much I can do. Eligible entries: A predicted time (if the time you submit has already been predicted I will post on this thread that you need to make another prediction) DNS with excuse of injury DNS with excuse of illness DNS with other excuse DNF with excuse of injury DNF with excuse of illness DNF with other excuse DFL is not a valid entry (although you might be right). The winner will be: The person whose predicted time is closest to Kip's chip time (either above or below). In the event of a tie, the faster predicted time will win. If one of the 6 possible DNS/DNF entries is the actual result(I will judge which category it fits), a random selection from all correct entries will be the winner. The contest will be voided if: Kip announces before the contest closes that he will not be running the race. We do not receive confirmation that Kip was monitored during the race and he completed the entire course. I'll post the website of the contest entry after I set it up. |

"Participants MUST wear their ChronoTrack. NO chip, NO time. The Cowtown Marathon Event Records: Male - 2:25:13 Female - 2:53" looks like it may be a slow course and/or not much high end competition? |

I'd volunteer -- departure from FRA preferred! *G* |

It is a somewhat slow course and usually not alot of comp but those aren't the event records. The men's record is 2:17 which was set in the early 90's and the women's is mid 2:40's from the mid 80's. I guess maybe those are course records as the course has changed about 5 times since the event started. |

Thank you for taking the time to come up with some ground rules, and organizing this contest. I can't speak for Dukerdog, but I am not going to participate so that there is no appearance of impropriety (I'll come up with a prediction, however I'll just write it on a piece of paper and keep it in my desk). I just looked on the Powerball website. Jackpot is sitting at $82 Million, with a cash payout of $40.6 Million. |

Folks @ the Cowtown Marathon have been put on notice regarding Dr Litton. See what shakes out. |

I wouldn't be surprised if 10 people were following him with cameras at this upcoming Cowtown race. |

There is no way in hell, the Kipster will be cheating at Cowtown or any other races in the future. He's too well known, at least in letsrundotcom land. |

I still think he doesn't show but runs another race somewhere else on that date. |
Clarkston Kent |
| ||
It doesn't matter what he does or where he is on Feb 27 - this is little more than a barely open window of opportunity to provide a tiny bit of vindication for himself. Nothing he does can undo the cheating that's preceded Feb 27. Nothing. For all we know, he might've run a marathon in Jan under an alias. He might run one anytime under an alias. He might continue to cheat after he's exposed as a cheat in a published story. Chew on that a bit. |

I will be @ Cowtown, as many know I work the expo circuit and this is one of my shows...I planned on driving back to San Antonio on Sat evening so that I could get a long run in on Sun am, but now I'm going to get my long run logged while in Ft Worth!! |
