The only other possible explanation for his cap change could be that his wife or a friend was waiting along the course after 30K to give him the all-important fresh cap. Yeah right.

Strangely enough, when I ran Boston my wife handed me a fresh cap at Heartbreak Hill, that is, right around the 30 k mark.

I had been wearing a hunter's blaze orange baseball cap so my groupies could spot me and she ran along with me for a bit and offered a cooler running hat. Since it was a very warm day, I gave it back and finished capless from that point.

I looked at the 2009 photos at the 30K point from page 40-80. Nothing that looked like Kip, looking quickly only at runners without a bib showing.

Guys, a possible breakthrough for the P.f. Chang Rock n Roll Arizona Marathon 2010 where Kip supposedly ran 2:51:21.

I checked the "More Runner Pictures" section and found at the start (way in the back) a guy fully dressed (jeans and shoes) with a blue bandanna covering his face--exactly like the bandanna that Kip wore at Boston: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBnux1t0U1rOyeTWhdGc1CpnzSOnFzLbtY6iNHZrtZ7qgdtgMjZItafMjPRY2m41amdxQMY-wfBp6l5cBqMjc1EsixApMQkGQ5odBQwsp772TubfheQlFzcPmMkswfeksBGOKeMsqqiugO/s1600/outfitCOMP.jpg

I added two pictures of blue bandanna guy in Kip's picture folder for Rock n Roll Arizona (bib 1212):

Marathon Guide has removed the results from the West Wyoming Marathon from their web site. They evidently have a sense of humor, though, as they left the runners' comments in place...

Race was great. I PRed by hanging with the leader. We sipped Cokes together while driving point-to-point. Highly recommended.

did anyone else notice this? Here is proof of Kip's cheating. DROVE point to point.

No shit, pal. They were all jokes by LRers. The original one ("Small race, with only a couple dozen runners. Bring your own gels; only water is available on course. Out-and-back route. No spectators to speak of. Sounds like a downer, but the view and the town are so worth it! Cross Wyoming off of your list and visit one of the most beautiful towns in the US at the same time.") was almost assuredly by the Kippster himself.

For the record, here's a link to his Maine half marathon photos from Oct 2010. This is the race where the bike followed him the whole way. First time I've seen him break a sweat, so he probably actually ran the entire way. Pace is slow compared to his other races...

I'm with you, not wearing 4 times as much clothing as those around him and actually sweating. Looks like he probably ran this one.

Those Boston pics where he was all bundled up compared to everyone around him were strange.

I think earlier in this thread on one of the other pages, one of the workers at Maine Half Marathon said before that she believed Kip switched from the Maine Marathon to the Half Marathon once he realized he was going to be followed

anyway here were Kip's results from that Maine Half 1:28

45 380 Kip Litton 49 43/769 M 6/93 M4549 Davison MI 1:28:14 6:44 1:28:14

Doesn't seem to like running shorts much, I guess those bike shorts and tights would be real convenient if you needed to hop on a bike for a quick spin.

There once was a guy named Kip
To Boston he did take a trip
He did huff and puff
But the going was tough
So a few miles he decided to skip

is wearing the exact same half tights as Kip was wearing in the Maine Half Marathon -- that is quite a coincidence, no?!!!

Please add the Gasparilla trio for 2009 to the FAIL list. There are pics of him walking the finish of the 5k that year, too.

I think we'll need to dig up more dirt on New Mexico. The altitude argument isn't very convincing. The elevation profile for Fort Collins is similar and I got a typical time.
